We test our dogs before breeding them so we can guarantee healthy pups without any genetic problems that could decrease the puppies quality of life.
Pennhip
PennHIP checks dogs for the risk of cainine hip dysplaisa (CHD) developing later in life.
Knowing the risk helps us make desicions on breeding mates so that we can breed for better hips in our puppies.
PennHIP is also an excellent test to do for your own pets and working dogs. Knowing the risk your own dog has for developing CHD can help you make life long goals to help your dog.

DNA
We DNA test our dogs for a variety of different genetic disorders that are most common in the Labrador Retriever breed.
By knowing if our dogs are carriers we can either remove them from our breeding program or make sure to only pare them with a dog that is not a carrier. This way we make sure we are not breeding unacceptable dogs and are keeping the genetic pool large and healthy.
